In our lives, there are many sounds around us. Many of them are caused by friction. For example, the beautiful sound of the violin is caused by friction. But there are many unconfortable sounds, or "noise" caused by friction, such as brake squeal, bearing noise, etc. Much research on these sounds is done in each application area, but there are very few fundamental studies on the effects of contact conditions on frictional sound. We attempt to discover the mechanisms of frictional sound generation at the contact level in point and surface contact.
